In the aftermath of a devastating traffic incident, General Flynn weighed in, asserting that the cargo ship collision involving the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore was a ‘BLACK SWAN event’, event, and it’s much bigger then we know.

The tragedy unfolded on March 26, 2024, when Baltimore’s Key Bridge collapsed following a collision with a 984-foot cargo ship, leaving six individuals presumed dead, including members of a road construction crew.
In the video footage captured the dramatic moment when the entire bridge structure plummeted into the water upon impact with the ship’s pillar. Governor Wes Moore noted that a distress call, or “mayday,” from the ship’s crew enabled authorities to halt incoming traffic, potentially averting further casualties.

Dive teams from various state and local agencies were swiftly mobilized to aid in search-and-rescue operations. Initially comprising 50 personnel, the mission expanded over time. However, the Coast Guard announced Tuesday evening the suspension of its active search-and-rescue operation, transitioning to a different phase.
Eight individuals were present on the bridge at the time of its collapse. While at least two were rescued, one of whom was subsequently discharged from the hospital, the fate of the others remains uncertain.
Authorities are diligently working to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will conduct a thorough investigation into the bridge’s construction and structural integrity. NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy emphasized that determining any prior safety concerns regarding the bridge will require meticulous examination.
In the midst of the crisis, Senator Chris Van Hollen recognized the formidable and expensive task ahead in rebuilding the bridge. Senior White House adviser Tom Perez urged caution, emphasizing that it’s too early to speculate on the timeline for reconstruction.
In a surprising revelation, President Joe Biden claimed to have traveled over the Baltimore bridge by train “many times,” despite its lack of any rail track. As he continued reading from his script, he underscored the government’s resolute commitment to fully finance the bridge’s reconstruction, thus exonerating the owner of the container ship DALI from financial responsibility. Various potential funding sources, such as the Federal Highway Administration and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, are being deliberated, with Congress actively exploring additional options for funding.
